The Legends Team Cup

The Legends Team Cup – ATP Champions Tour is founded by Top 12 Group in Sweden in collaboration with the tennis organizations ATP and ATP Champions Tour. It is a new thrilling team competition series among tennis superstars that have been ranked top 20 in the world and are above the age of 33. A development group led by the Legends Team Cup, which includes representatives of the ATP Champions Tour, ATP and a players’ council, select the ten players. The two team captains have announced their respective teams via a live draft from England in June 2022.

The Legends Team Cup – ATP Champions Tour will be played on spectacular locations around the world.
The total prize money in 2022 will be 1 Million euros

During the introductory year 2022 there will be three events. Within three years, the Legends Team Cup-ATP Champions Tour will consist of 8 competitions. The last competition each year will be a grand finale.

 

EVENT FORMAT
3 days event (1 session each day)
Each session 3 matches are played – two singles and a doubles
No player can play singles more than once each day.
At least three of the four players must play singles and doubles. No doubles combination is played more than once, unless for the Decider on Day 3, if points are 9:9
 
MATCH FORMAT (Both singles and doubles)
Pro Set to 8 games and a 10 points match tie break 8 (with a 2 points margin)
 
EVENT SCORING
Day 1: 1 point per win in each match 
Day 2: 2 points per win in each match 
Day 3: 3 points per win in each match 
The winning team must reach 10 points; In the event of a tie after all 9 matches are played, a final doubles Match Tie break to 10 points will be played to decide the winner. 
 
COMPETITION SCORING
Each winning Team of individual events will be awarded 1 LEGENDS TEAM CUP point per event; The Grand Finals will award 2 LEGENDS TEAM CUP points
In case of a tie at 2 LEGENDS TEAM CUP points at the end of the Grand Finals, a “Champions” final doubles Match Tie break to 10 points will be played
 
PLAYER NOMINATIONS
Team nominations will be announced by Captains at 10AM.
Players Match-ups are determined through the exchange of lineup cards by the captains
